Job Title: General Assistant
Competitive salary (based on experience) plus benefits (Holiday, Staff discounts etc.)
About The Role:
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and adaptable General Assistant to join our team at Hartley Boats. This is a highly varied role where no two days are the same. You could be doing anything from helping out in the chandlery shop to sorting parts, or assisting the team with building and fitting equipment.
More than anything, we are looking for someone with a great attitude who will fit right in with our team. If you are happy to get stuck in and lend a hand wherever it's needed, we can teach you the rest.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Pitching in wherever an extra pair of hands is needed to support the day-to-day running of the business
- Helping out in the chandlery shop (serving customers, operating the till, handling stock)
- Sorting and organizing parts, materials, and deliveries
- Assisting the team with practical tasks, like building or fitting out boats (full training provided)
- Keeping work areas, the shop, and the yard clean, tidy, and safe
- Providing basic advice to customers (once trained)
About You:
- A positive, "can-do" attitude and a willingness to get stuck in
- Friendly, approachable, and a great team player
- Happy to take on a wide variety of tasks, shifting from customer service to hands-on practical work
- Reliable, hardworking, and well-organised
- Willing to learn new skills and marine terminology
- An interest in boating, sailing, or marine activities is a plus, but definitely not essential—your attitude is what counts most to us!
